Potion Knight on Steam!

Overview 🗺️

In the final fourteen weeks of the minor I did (Game Design and Development), the challenge was to create a 3D game in Unity.

Unlike the 2D game we made during the minor, in this project I chose to be an artist instead of a developer. The reason for this is that I have always been very interested in 3D modeling and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it out and learn something new.

Our team consisted of 12 people. The team consisted of four developers, six artists (including myself), one game designer and one producer.

In the project I worked mostly on environment assets, props and texturing (structures like houses, towers, fountains, etc. and props like bottles and items that drop from the enemies).

Technologies Used 🛠️

  • Blender (Modeling, UV mapping, texturing)
  • Unity (Map decoration + some small programming tasks)
  • Paint.NET (texture editing)
  • SLK_img2pixel (texture editing)

Conclusion 🏁

This project was a very valuable learning experience for me, both at a technical level (learning Blender) as on a personal level (confirming my interest in art and creative work). I also think the game turned out to be very fun (especially for speedrunning) and it exceeded the expectations I had throughout the first few weeks of the project.
